At the beginning of time, when people lived in the sky
A group of hunters found an armadillo
And it led them on a chase
And they followed it down through a hole in the clouds
Why are we here?
We couldn't resist the temptation of an armadillo
We used to live in the sky

I watch the Sun invade the sky
You hide behind the ruins of yesterday
The only way to change the tide
Is by seeing eye to eye
I take the path to carry on
You find a way to keep me in the dark, no matter what I learn
I try to save as many as I can
You keep things to yourself, no matter what it costs
Hide your real intentions
If you see me, hide them when you can
Broken favors, what's your plan?
Take them with you if you can
You'd let the world turn into dust
To satiate your curiosity
I like to share what I have learned
To keep the world from turning into dust
The only way to change the tide
Is by seeing eye to eye

Standing on the mountaintop
I reach out for the Sun
The fire bathes my fingertips
My senses are overrun
Standing on the mountaintop
I can see where I began
The towers far beneath me
My shadow on the land
Waiting for a memory
And looking for a sign
The wind is slowing rising
As the Moon begins to shine
I can't believe my eyes
And all the things you show to me
Are just a big surprise
Breaking through my memory
And in between the lies
I see the world for what it is
I see the empty skies
I see the world for what it is

I told the king that the trees were dead
But he couldn't hear a word I said
The Queen had filled his world with dread
And convinced him of a lie instead:
"The trees can burn as we look ahead"
And the king was blinded as the fires spread
We cannot breathe as we face the end
All because the king was so easily misled
A better world has come and gone
The battle lines so simply drawn
As progress kills the natural world
There comes a point of no return
The little things begin to decay
The little things that we lost today
As we fade away into the dust
The natural world will learn to adjust
And soI told the king that all of the trees were dead
But by then the Queen had changed her mind
And wanted to save the world instead

Leviathan

Everyday the river gets closer
Everyday is another chance to die
Everything that seemed so important
Has washed away with the rising tides
Everyday the water gets higher
And now I know that there's no where left to hide
For 200 years I watched in silence
AS the coral crept up around me, and the ocean floor concealed me
They called me Leviathan
The accused me of devouring the Spanish Armada
I listened to the tales of grief and of absence
I heard the cries of the living and the dead
They blamed me for what they did not want to see
They ignored what they did not understand
As I traverse the growing waves
The lands wash away before my eyes
I am not a nightmare
I am something that you don't understand

An empty tree that I used to call home
Has turned into the pages of this ancient, musty tome
Why do you believe that I should sacrifice my home
So that your descendants can marvel at your poems?
A babbling brook, where we used to find our food
Is now a causeway poisoned with your crude
Why do you believe that we should sacrifice our lands
So that your descendants can marvel at your deeds?
Down with your greed and ideology
You steal what you need and spread your tyranny
An empty plain that used to be filled with life
Is now a barren wasteland filled with grief
Why does progress mean the rape of the natural world?
Why does your progress always lead to death?
Down with your greed and ideology
You steal what you need and spread your tyranny
The world was so big, and you filled it with your fear
The world was so big, and you filled it with your hate
To hell with your wants and your society
We need no response, we just want to live in peace
Down with your greed and ideology
You steal what you need and spread your tyranny

The Seventh Day

Be wise
Be careful
All that you need is inside you
As the Blood Moon grows stronger
So do we
With a little help, most of life's curses can be a gift
The Bells summon me to my task
Flattery is fine
Gold is finer
Silverbane to protect and to change
You cannot hide from destiny
You cannot hide from the truth
The Seventh Sign falls on the Seventh Son
The Seventh Day has only just begun

The Sky Ships

Into the sky, I see you
Into the night, right through you
There goes my life, in your hands
And in the Moonlight
Why did I run? To save you
Under the gun
Where did you go? The Sun is behind the rainbow
What should I do?
Distant thunder haunts me
Calls me by my hidden name
Grabs me by my empty hand
Shows me what to understand
The Sky Ships open my mind
Show me new ways to believe
Give me answers, then they leave
Distant thunder calls me home

Everything is coming up roses
But I don't believe that you understand
Where are the accidents that I paid for?
Why are there scales in my hands?
I can hear your wings beating softly
I can see the light change where you stand
Where are the seasons that I paid for?
Where are the scales for my hands?
